WANGANUI SOCCER SEASON OPENS ON SATURDAY NEXT
This season all matches under the ( control of the Wanganui Football As- ’ social ion will be played on Victoria 1 Park. This was agreed to at the an- 1 nual meeting of the association held I on Tuesday night. The following will be the loams taking part this season:—Senior, T. 0.8., Atldetic, Eastbrooke Rangers; Senior B, T. 0.8., Athletic, Eastbrooke Rangers, Technical A and possibly Technical B (which will save a bye ;n the competition). The meeting decided to aporcach the Wanganui City Council, seeking the provision of dressing-shed acc' nmodation at Victoria Park. If help wore forthcoming for the provision of this amenity, it would in some way compensate for the loss of Cook’s Cardens by the code this season, it was stated. Two rounds will be played for the Association Shield, and on Saturday morning schoolboy soccer will be commenced for this * season at Victoria Park on the same lines at last ycai. senior clubs “adopting" £nd training schoolboy teams. The following officers were elected for the current year: Patron, Mr. H. Ward: president. Mr. A. Humphries (Mr. J. Thompson, who presided, no l seeking re-election); vice-pre'idents 23 were elected; secretary, Mr. C. E Darby; assistant-secretary, Mr. J.
I Scott; treasurer, Mr. J. Strichen; ' senior sole selector, Mr. J. Walker; i senior B selector, Mr. H. Hoskins. The | management committee will consist of two members from each of the clubs. I Messrs N. Breed and A. Kendrick are (he members of the fixtures commitlee, and Messrs G. Langslow and J. Walker the members of the disputes committee.
