WANGANUI CRICKET ASSOCIATION SHOWS PROFIT FOR PAST SEASON
* The Wanganui Cricket Association’s income for the 1948-49 season amounted to £3BO Bs. This was revealed by the treasurer, Mr. J. Caradus at a meeting of th e Management Committee last night. The expenditure for the season was £313 19s, leaving an excess of income over expenditure of £66 Bs. Main item of expenditure was £B2 5s for the maintenance of grounds. Rent fees amounted to £2B, entertainment expenses £34 12s 6d, and cost of cricket balls and materials, £3l 16s. The association paid to Hutt Valley £25 Gs is a share of the profits of the Hawke Cup game and £l7 5s 6d was spent cn primary school’s cricket. Gate collections for representative matches amounted to £142 9s. Other items of income included, £65 from affiliation fees, £66 10s for players' ground fees, £5O 8s from honorary members’ subscriptions and £29 8.. from wicket rental fees. Gate takings for Saturday matches realised £l4 11s. Afternoon tea takings amounted to £l2 2s. The balance-sheet shows that the assets of the association now amount | to £2Ol 5.
