ARMISTICE TALKS BETWEEN ISRAEL AND SYRIA AT DEADLOCK

April 27 (Recd 7.10 pm). —An Israeli Army spokesman stated that armistice talks . between Israel and Syria haq reached a deadlock, reports Reuter’s correspondent in no-man’s-land on the Israel—Syrian border. The spokesman said the Syrians refused to withdraw from the Mishmar Hayarden area and the strip of land south of Lake Tiberias which would bring them to the old international border. Another armistice meeting is scheduled for April 29.
