Bpm).—The invasion by Chinese Communist troops of the privacy of the United States Ambassador, Mr Leighton Stuart, in Nanking has stirred the interest of Americans more than any other event in the developments in China. However, there is no disposition in Congressional circles to extreme anger, and the consensus of opinion appears to have been expressed by Senator Richard Russell, who said: “I wouldn’t go to war over this thing.”
