NATIONAL FORCES COUNTER-ATTACK IN CHINA

NANKING, April 15 (Recd 12.10 am).—Continuing their combined land, sea and air attacks on Communists, the Nationalists today are reported to have recaptured a northoank bridgehead at Sankiangying, about 62 miles east of Nanking. Two additional Communist regiments, one battalion claimed, had been wiped out.

Political observers in Nanking say the reports of Nationalist counter-attacks since the opening of formal peace talks might have serious repercussions. Unconfirmed reports said Nationalist operations followed a telephone conference with Generalissimo Chiang-Kai-shek at Chikow.
