Report By Soviet Women On Their Visit To Britain
MOSCOW, April 14 (Rec. 8 pm).— Six Russian women who went to Britain in March to attend the International Women's Day Conference, reported today to the Presidium of the Anti-Fascist Committee of Soviet Women.
They said the common people of Britain wanted peace and friendship with the Soviet Union, but “reactionary circles are attempting to evoke hostility.” Tatyana Zueva said. “The British people are profoundly sympathetic towards the Soviet Union. Women repeatedly expressed to us their gratitude for the Soviet Union’s peaceful policy, and stated they would not permit a new war against us, but British reactionary circles and the reactionary press conduct anti-Soviet slanderous propaganda, attempting to misinform the British people and evoke hostility towards the Soviet Union.”—Reuter.
