Wanganui City Bowlers To Play King Country Players At Week-End

Bowlers representing the city clubs in the Wanganui Centre are to play against players from Taumarunui, Ohakune, Ruapehu and Raetihi on Saturday and Sunday, in Wanganui. On Saturday the visitors will be split up and sent to various greens. On Sunday they will all play on the Wanganui green in Nelson Street. The following players are asked to assemble at the Wanganui green at 9.45 a.m. sharp on Sunday: R. Armstrong, Liddell, Glengarry, Carline, Bell, Gould, Gullery, O’Reilly, Candish, Cvitanovich, Webby, Taylor, C. Aitken, Watson, Findlay, Thrush, Brittain, Strachan, N. Kirk, Walker, Peters, Hounsell, W. Gordon, M. Stewart, B. Willis, Merewether, Blomfield, J. B. Jack, Rountree, Benge, Edwards, Martin, J. Kirk, Lowe, C. Haworth, Kirkwood, Fisher, J. Armstrong, Beauchamp, Callaghan, Glover, Jull, Bradley, Shaw, Druman, Bradshaw, Taplin, Greener, Young, Bautlan, Tilley, Baker, Bradshaw, Gaunt, Overend, Holden, P. Thomson, Robson, Gurney, Frank Green, W. Ward, Benge, Gibbard, I. Harris, Felix Green, Blackie and Hawkins. Players unable to play are asked to notify one o r other of the following centre officials before 5 p.m. on Friday: D. E. Gullery (telephone 8152), C. Haworth (534 or 8258 A), or G. Carline (8196). There is to be a concert arranged for the visitors in the Savage Club Hall on Saturday night, to which all bowlers are invited.
