ABDULLAH SAYS ARABS WILL NEVER GIVE UP OLD JERUSALEM CITY
LONDON, Feb. 22 (Rec. 6 pm). Giving his views on the TransjordanIsrael armistice talks which are due, to begin in Rhodes on Friday, King Abdullah told “The Times” Amman correspondent that any Transjordan delegation sent to Rhodes would alsol speak for Iraq. Its terms of refer- • ence would in no way be rigid. It j would be authorised to compromise, i but on some issues it would be ada-1 mant. There could be no compromise about the future of Jerusalem. His claims in Jerusalem were not excessive. They were the old city and those areas which had previously been occupied by the Arabs He had no claim on Jewish Jerusalem, but. the old city would never be yielded up, to Israel.
