Wanganui Marching Teams Take Honours At Ohakune Display
Marching teams, from Wanganui tilled first, second, and third places in the Ohakune Marching Association’s open championship on Saturday. Seventeen teams took part and of the total six were from Wanganui. Results were:—
Marching contest: United (Wanganui) 275£ points, 1; Fusiliers (Wanganui). 272 1-8, 2; Guards (Wanganui), 2G9 7-8, 3.
Best leader contest: Miss B. Stent (Wanganui) 46 7-8 points, 1; Patsy Whakarau (Wanganui) 465, 2. Best costume: United (Wanganui) 1. On Sunday afternoon an open midget marching competition was held in Ohakune, and was won by Mountain Midgets, with Rangata.ua Midget Lancers’ team second.
