BRASS BANDS B GRADE TESTS DECIDED

WELLINGTON BOYS’ INSTITUTE AND HAMILTON CITIZENS AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— The Dominion Brass Bands’ Championships were continued today, when test selections in the B Grade were completed. Because of bad weather this evening’s contest was held in the Town Hall instead of Blandford Park. Results:— B GRADE TEST SELECTIONS. A Section: Wellington Boys’ Institute Senior, 42, 1; Lower Hutt Municipal, and Greymouth Municipal, equal 35, 2. B Section— Hamilton Citizens, 21, 1; Stratford Citizens, 17, 2; Crichton Cobbers’ Club, 15, 3. SOLO RESULTS. BBb Bass Solo (own choice): K. E. Oliver (Ashburton) 91 points, 1; D. Dewe (Palmerston North) 90, 2; J. Taylor (Wellington Waterside) 89. 3. The judge said the winner had a glorious tone and a perfect sense of rhythm. Side Drum Solo: W. Senior (Mt. Eden) 91, 1; J. N.
