Technical College Roll Totals 660
The school roll today totals 660 (450 boys and 210 girls). New enrolments were 183 boys and 102 girls. These facts were revealed by the principal, Mr. J. Dash in his report to the first meeting of the year of the Wanganui Technical College Board of Managers. It is worthy of note that the roll has again returned to the high total of 1947, despite the phenomenal demand for juvenile labour,” continued the report. “What is also worthy of note is the extremely high turnover of pupils; some 280 pupils enter and approximately the same number leave the school during the year. New pupils account for more than 40 per cent, of the total r oll.” «
