SANDY'S CORNER
Will you be one of those held to ransom by King's Ransom today? CHANGE OF NAME. Judging by headlines in the paper of late, bearing that simply lettered English word "murder," this fair land is in danger of losing its rightful place in the regard of mankind. We may wake up one morning to find that we are living, not in the Socialist Isles, but in the Murderous isles. GEORGE BERNARD LOOKS HIGH. "Heaven keen me out of tlie headlines," wail s George Bernard Shaw. Wlty does he make his appeal to heaven, when hard-working, often harassed, tied-10-their-desk sub-edi-tors would be only too glad to oblige? Why look to the mighty for favours when tho lowly can grant them so easily? CURIOUS MAN. Fascinating habit this of mankind probing away to find what is happening on the moon and the sun. So far as we are concerned it is best left fascinating. We can't properly manage our own earth yet; so let alone d elving into the sun and the moon. Anyhow, even if we do reach the moon and move on to the sun, some cow will come mooning round to find out whether we’ve joined the union, and are our dues paid up We prefer to view the sun, moon and stars from the Socialist Isles, and try to cope with the devil we know rather than the one we don’t—no place in the sun for us.
