Hitch Because Of “Freighting,” Not Because Of Russia

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— The delay in loading wool for Russia into the Wye Valley was due to “a slight hitch in freighting arrangements,” said an officer of the Overseas Shipowners’ Allotment Committee this afternoon. He added that it was expected the matter would be put right within 24 hours. It was a minor matter of a type which frequently cropped up, but because the cargo was destined for Russia the incident appeared to have been enlarged. There was no attempt, as far as he knew, to withhold cargo for Russia.
