A reunion of the members of the Prisoner of War Relations (Wanganui) took place yesterday afternoon in the Y.M.-Y.W.C.A. lounge. There was a very good attendance. The purpose of the gathering was to farewell Mrs. D. Wilson, who had been president of the organisation during the war years, and to Mrs- T. Russell, a member, both of whom are leaving in a few weeks for a visit to England. Arrangements for the reunion were made by Mrs. M. C. Dark and Mrs. J. Deere. Mrs. C. M. Orton was responsib’e for the floral decorations. In opening the meeting Mrs. Wilson said how nice it was to meet all the members again. Mrs. Dark, in a short speech, explained the reason for the gathering and said all would ioin her in wishing Mrs- Wilson and Mrs. Russell a very pleasant voyage and safe return. She and Mrs. Deere had not been able to get in touch with all the members, numbering well over 100, as many had left the district, but they were pleased to welcome those who were present. The two guests of honour were presented with lovely- sprays of flowers by Mrs. Deere. ’ Songs were sung by Mrs. S. Nolan and Mrs. Hodges, the "accompaniments being played by Mrs. R. H. Tizard, who also contributed a pianoforte solo. Afternoon tea and a pleasant ta’k amongst members concluded a happy gathering.
