Sydney Method Of Sending Parcels To Britain Advocated

PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Last Night (PA).—A request that the Government consider adopting the Sydney scheme now in operation in Australia for sending food parcels to Britain was made by Mr. J. R. Marshall (Opp., Mt Victoria) in a notice of a question to the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash) in the House of Representatives today Mr. Marshall said that, under this scheme food is sent, in bulk to Britain Australians send 10s to the Food Appeal Office in Sydney with an English address. The addresses are sent by air and the parcels are made up and posted in England, being delivered in 12 to 21 days. Freight on the parcels is cut from about. 5s 7d for an 111 b. parcel to lid or lid.
