Vain Attempt To Get Steel
AUCKLAND, Last Night. (PA).— Having tried in vain to get. sufficient steel through the Government for contracts Mr. A. Atkinson, managing director of the Atco Welding and Forging Company, Wellington, left by air today for Sydney. “I come from England and I am going to Hull, where they make steel. I am going to see what some of my old school mates can do,” Mr. Atkinson said.
"Controls are all right, ho added, "but they are no good if you have to go down on your hands and knees for everything.” His firm wants more steel to fulfil a £35,000 contract to erect tanks for the British Petroleum Company of New Zealand in the Hutt Valley.
