Post Office Aids The Press

Excellent arrangements for the heavy Press traffic which passed through the Ohakune Post Office were made by the Post and Telegraph Department over the past three days and were much appreciated by visiting journalists covering the story of the wrecked Lockheed. Anticipating that a large number of lengthy messages would be lodged, the department sent a portable Creed teleprinter from Wellington to replace the ordinary Morse. It was installed in the Ohakune Post Office on Friday night and operated by Mr. A. Koorey, of the telegraph office, Wanganui, was handling messages within a very short time. The office remained opened for the convenience of newspapers till earlly <ni Saturday morning and was open again yesterday. The postmaster, Mr. R. Ingham, and his staff, were helpful throughout. During th? earlier stages the chief postmaster at Wanganui, Mr. R. L. Horn, visited Ohakune.
