WE desire to express our gratitude to those kind persons who came to our assistance on Thursday evening, October 14, when the car we were travelling in became involved in a collision with another car on the Main Highway at the juncture of a side road leading to Marton. We tender our special thanks to Mr and Mrs Meyer for hospitality and kindness shown, especially to Mrs Bowden. Also the police officer and traffic inspector, both of whom were very helpful. BY-LAWS. NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Wanganui Harbour Board held on the 15th day of October, 1948, the Board adopted and passed By-laws for the Harbour of Wanganui the purport of such Bylaws being—(a) to amend the definition of ordinary business hours upon the wharf and effect consequential amendments: (b) to amend the charges payable in respect of wharfage, the Harbour Improvement Rate. Pilotage and Pilot's Sen-Ices and Ship dues.
