Royal Visit In Wellington Stated To Be Too Short
WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).--Hotel accommodation in Wellington at the time of the Royal visit is already difficult to find. This was stated at a meeting of the Wellington Citizens’ Committee. The convener of the accommodation sub-committee, Mr. W. H- Whistle, said 156 hotels, private hotels and boardinghouses had been circularised and only 21 had replied, and of those replies only two were “positive.” A company proposed to instal multipots at intervals along the routes to supply tea and biscuits, and also to provide some of them as mobile units. There would be in all about 36 multipots- The proposal was adopted.
