Divorce Rate In Britain Rising

LONDON, Oct. 28 (Rec. 6 pm).— The National Marriage Guidance Council announced that, the divorce figures for England and Wales in 1918 are expected to exceed the record number of petitions filed in 1947.
Twenty-five thousand persons in the first half of 4948 filed petitions, which is half the figure for the whole of 1947. Divorces in England and Wales in 1924 were only 12,000.
