Fleece Competition To Be Held This Year In Wanganui

The annual fleece competition it io be continued this year by Feder ated Farmers. This decision wa: reached at yesterday's meeting of the Wanganui Provincial Executive when Mr. J Currie, one of the organisers asked for a decision in view of the poor response last year from woolgrowers.

“Last year was a record one We i had a record number of promises and a record low level for fleeces," said Mr Currie. It was a question as to i whether the competition should he held this year or washed out If then’ was a repetition of last year there would be difficulty in securing judges," he added. Seconding a motion by Mr Currie that the competition should be held this year, Mr. W. J Tripe said lie felt that the competition should be supported in every possible way.
