Hotel At Wairakei Opening Next Year
N. PLYMOUTH, Oct. 26, (P.A.).— The Government hotel at Wairakei will reopen on February 1, according to advice received last week. Internal renovations and painting are nearing completion. The major work still to be done is the staff accommodation. The hotel will be centrally heated from natural sources. Thermal steam is being harnessed to heat cold water for circulators as a result of investigations made bv Dr. N. Modriniak, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
Mr. C. E. Brown, formerly manager of the Tokaanu Hotel, has been appointed manager of the Wairakei Hotel. He transferred there last Friday. Mr. P. Tiller, late manager of the Waikaremoana Hostel, has been appointed manager at. Tokaanu. It is understood that Mr. L. M. Cherioton is retiring from the managership of the Waitomo Caves Hotel.
