More Time Wanted To Consider Bill

MASTERTON, Oct 24 (PA).—Commenting on the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Salues Amendment Bill, Mr. R. W. Kebbell, provincial president of Federated Farmers, said the Bill was considered by farmers in this district so important to the farming community that their national organisation should have every opportunity to consider all its implications.

The passage of the Bill through Parliament had come at a time of the year when it was very difficult for farmers to take time off from their farms. Arrangements were made some time ago for the Dominion council of Federated Farmers to meet in Wellington on November 2 and 3. and the leaders of the organisation planned their farming operations so as to allow them to be present in (Wellington at that time. Mr. Kebbell suggested that in all fairness the Government should delay further consideration of the measure until leaders of the primary industrs have had an opportunity to meet and consider it.
