Technical Teachers To Press Claim
CHRISTCHURCH, Oct 24 (PA).— Commenting on the proposal to set up an appeal board in each education district to give primary teachers the right of appeal against non-appoint-ment, the president of the New Zealand Technical School Teachers Association (Mr. A. M. Hatch) said the association was in agreement with the provision and that efforts were being made to obtain the same right for technical school teachers. It was felt that the Minister of Education (Mr. McCombs) was in sympathy with the technical teachers in their request, but considered its inclusion in the present Bill inadvisable owing to administrative difficulties. Further representations are being made to endeavour to overcome these before the final reading of the Bill.
