Communism Is Ruthless Dictatorship
PARIS, Oct. 11.- The British UnderSecretary of Foreign Affairs, Mr Mayhew. replying to Russian attacks on the West, told the Social Committee during a debate on the United Nations declaration on human rights that Communism “was one of the mobt ruthless forms of economic and political dictatorship the world has ever seen.” Mr. Mayhew said Fascism was less dangerous to democracy than “those who call their political opponents Fascists then execute them.” He added that Communist secrecy could not conceal the stream of political refugees to the west. “These refugees, many of whom fought with the Allies during the war. blew down mountains of propaganda about vaunted Communist constitutions.” Mr. Mayhew gave examples to show that Russia was far behind Britain in social security and education-
