ITALIAN COLONIES DEBATE BEGINS IN PARIS

British and French spokesmen attending the four-Power talks on Italian colonies, said that all four Powers agree that Italy’s Somaliland should be handed back to her as trusteeship, but on the future of Eritrea and Cyrenaica there was disagreement, even among the three Western Powers On Somaliland the Russian demands fixed a trusteeship period, while the three Western Allies want no time limit The Russians recommend an Italian trusute'eship for all three of the former Italian African colonies.
Britain proposes an Ethiopian trusteeship for Eritrea, and the French propose an Italian trusteeship for Eritrea, except the Danakil coast, which should go to Ethiopia. The Americans propose a British trusteeship for Cyrenaica and support the French view on the Danakil coast. ,
