Barrier Positions In Main Trentham Events
For the eight races to be decided at Trentham next Saturday, the opening day of the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting, acceptors totalled 177, and with the elimination of live from the Whyte Handicap to bripg the field within the safety margin of 30 for the mile barrier there is an average of just over 21 a race. The fields have filled as follow: Mariri Hack and Hunters’ Steeples, 14; Woburn Hack Handicap, 20; Vittoria Hack Hurdles. 28; Stewards’ Handicap, 19; Wellington Steeplechase, 23; Trentham Hurdies, 17; Whyte Handicap, 30; Te Aro Hack Handicap, 21.
