U.N. Mediator Has His Communications All Linked Up
Recd. 5.35 p.m. London, June 23. Reuter’s Rhodes Correspondent says that Count Bernadotte, United Nations mediator, now has complete radio communication with the area covered by the truce from his island headquarters here. The American. General Frank E. Stoner, Chief United Nations communications officer, arrived in the United States naval supply ship Marquette, bringing radio equipment and giving the mediators headquarters direct communication with Haifa and with five jeep-borne radio observation points in Palestine. The.equipment will also give him the fastest possible link with the United Nations headquarters at Lake Success.
