Erection Of Girders For New Bulls Bridge Completed

Final welding operations on the new 1600 ft., two-lane concrete highway bridge across the Rangitikel River at Bulls will commence shortly, ail steel girders now being in position. A start will also be made with the construction of new approaches to the bridge as soon as concreting over the steelwork is undertaken- The bridge is a very short distance upstream from the wooden structure it replaces. It is understood that the whole strip of highway from the foot of the hill at the south end of the Bulls township boundary will be realigned presumably by the department’s plant and staff. Providing cement comes forward in suffeient quantities, there should be little delay with his work and there is every indication that the bridge will he open to traffic early in the new year.
