AUCTIONEER’S NOTE.—We have inspected the above cows and find them to be a particularly choice lot. they are all in wonderful order and] condition, carrying their 2nd to 6th I calves, and due August and September. When establishing this herd Mr. Easton used a top Horn bull, the progeny of which he crossed with a selected Major Wilson Friesian bull, and since then the best of ped. Jersey sires have carried on, the latest purchase being from Mr. D. B. Rowe, a bull which is to be sold, at the sale. The herd has been regularly tested for the past 12 years and through this medium any animal not up to stand-1 ard has been culled. Only heifers from the highest-producing dams have been retained for replacements. The records put up last season were 348 lbs of fat, factory returns, and 358 lbs. fat herd test, which is a truly remarkable feat, taking into consideration the adverse conditions ruling at that time. Clients in search of good-constitution-ed. high-producing stock, can attend this sale with confidence. Furthermore, cattle off this Foxton country will improve wherever taken.
