Wanganui Bird Exhibitors Wins At New Plymouth

(Special) New Plymouth. June 9. A number of special trophies were won by Wanganui fanciers at the Taranaki A. and P. Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Club’s show at New Plymouth today, when some North Island championships were decided. Entries were received from Wellington, Wanganui, Hawke’s Bay, and Waikato. In the pigeon classes L. J. Edmonds (Wanganui) won trophies for adult racing homer, young racing homer, best homer, and show best adult homer in open classes, best adults both sexes in distance classes, best young bird in open classes, and best racing homer. In the canary and cage bird classes, J. McCartney (Wanganui), exhibited the best British Olid foreign bird. The North Island championship for utility Orpington in the poultry section was. won by J- Patterson (Wanganui), and that for the Indian Runner duck by J. W, Carrick (Wanganui). Mr. Patterson won the trophy for best male or female bird, fancy or utility, and special prize in the fancy section for the best Orpington. The John Jarvis Bowl for the bejr utility bird in the show went to C. Strang (Wanganui), who in the utility section also exhibited the best Leghorn in the show, best bird in the utility section, and best young utility bird. He won the Association Cup for the best young bird, light breed. Mr. Carrick won the special prjjie in the fancy section for the best duck or drake.
