Another Fire At Ardmore College

(P A.) , Auckland, June 8. The second fire in three days broke out in the Ardmore Teachers' Training College tonight and swept through a. dormitory block occupied by male college students. Within half an hour hundreds of pounds’ worth of personal belongings, furniture and other equipment were destroyed. None of the men was in the block when the fire broke out. Twentyeight men lost practically all their belongings. The building in which the fire occurred was only two buildings apart from that which was destroyed by fire on Sunday night. It was about 250 ft. long and was made up of two blocks, one of which contained 28 cubicles and the other 26 cubicles. The interior of the former block was completely wept by the fire, but the second block escaped. At the time of the outbreak all the students In the college were at a combined lecture and the dormitory building was tyindividual losses suffered by many of the 28 students ran Into a considerable amount of money. Musical instruments, valuable books, and money went up in flames with the clothing. One student had only recently spent about £5O on clothes, and others had also made additions to their wardrobes during the holidays.
