(P.A.) Auckland, June 7. Twenty shillings in the pound will be refunded by the Auckland Harbour Bridge Company to its shareholders. An agreement has been signed under which the company and M R. Hornibrook, Ltd., of Brisbane, assign all rights conferred on the company to the Government. In return the Government has transferred £15.000 to the company, sufficient to pay all liabilities, to settle directors’ fees, and repay the shareholders. A meeting of shareholders is called for June 28 to appoint liquidators. The company was formed in 1931 with £lO,OOO capital to build a bridge across the Waitemata Harbour. Following the recommendations of the 1946 Commission, the Government promised to build the bridge.
