Inclusion Of Waitotara County In Catchment Area Would Be Opposed
That he had heard that the Wanganui Regional Planning Committee had discussed the question of including the Waitotara County In a catchment board area was mentioned by Cr. G. H. Trott at yesterday's meeting of the Waitotara County Council. He gathered that there might be some opposition to the inclusion of Waitotara County in any catchment area. “I understand that the proposal would involve the county In an extra rate, and no one wants this at the present time. I would not like to think that the committee made any such suggestion to the Government without an investigation and without getting an opinion Irom the council."
Though such a suggestion had been made but that nothing definite nad been decided on was stated by the chairman (Mr. W. McKee) who said he was present at the meetings o£ the Regional Planning Committee.
