APOLOGY DEMANDED
Seoul, June 5 Lieut.-General Hodge has demanded, a full and appropirate apology from Lieut.-General Korotkov, Soviet commander in North Korea, as a result of an incident on May 26 when three American n.c.0., and a Korean interpreter were fired on by the north Korean constabulary a few hundred yards south of the 38th parallel. General Hodge demanded that the offenders should be apprehended and punished. He said there could be no doubt that the North Koreans fired without provocation, nor that they identified the personnel as Americans and tried to kill them.
