AUSTRALIA’S RECORD TEN MONTHS’ TRADE
Recd. 11 p.m. Canberra, June 7 In the ten months to last April, Australia’s trade figures surpassed the previous highest totals for a full year. The total exports for the ten months were £325 794,000, against the record for the completed year of £309,000,000. The total imports for the ten months were £276,947,000, compared with the previous annual record of £244,600,000. Exports to New Zeaalnd for the ten months were £13,027,000, compared with £10,501,000 for the same period the previous year. Imports from New Zealand for the ten months totalled £3-704,000, compared with £3,649,000 for the same period the previous year. Australia’s dollar deficit for the ten months amounted to 135,000,000 dollars.
