Racing Dates In Wanganui District For Next Season
Racing dates for the 1948-49 season, commencing on August 1, will be considered by the Dates Committee of the Racing Conference prior to the annual conference at Wel.ington in July, and the Conference will be guided by the recommendations of the committee in making allocations. Dates applied for by clubs under the jurisdiction of the Wanganui District Committee are as foilow, all being Saturdays unless otherwise indicated:—
Wanganui Jockey Club: September 4 and 11; February 5 and 12; June 4 and 6 (King’s Day). Manawatu Racing Cl uh: December 18, 27 (Monday, Boxing Day) and 28 (Tuesday); March 26 and April 2; June 11 and 18. Feilding Jockey Club: November 13 and 20 (or alternatively November 20 and 27); April 16 and 18 (Easter Monday). z Marton Jockey C üb: September 18; January 1 and 3 (Monday). Waverley Racing Club: October 25 (Monday, Labour Day); April 30. Rangitikei Racing Club: October 30; March 5 (or alternatively February 26). Rangitikei Hunt Club: July 30. Manawatu Hunt Club: July 23. Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club: January 22 (Anniversary Day). \T-nont-Wanganui Hunt Club: August 21 (at New Plymouth, in conjunction with Taranaki Hunt Club).
