Two Singers Arrive
WEBSTER BOOTH AND ANNE ZEIGLER. Two of England’s best-known singers of the stage, screen, and radio, Mr. Webster Booth and his wife. Anne Ziegler, arrived at Auckland by air from Sydney on Thursday to begin a concert tour of New Zealand, which includes Wanganui. Mr. Booth said that their view was that they should entertain and not educate. They would sing the songs •by which the people knew them, such as popular operatic airs, ballads, and musical comedy successes. In England he had made autograph hunters give a silver coin for charities and he would follow the same practice in New Zealand The money collected for autographs would be presented to New Zealand's Heritage Movement.
