Japs Hold Memorial Services For The Souls Of 25,000,000 Eels
(N.Z.P. A. —Reuter—Copyright) Tok io, May 30. Restaurant owners and gourincts held memorial services today for the souls of 25,000,000 eels. The eels ware eaten last year in Tokio. Two hundred cafe owners and eaters stood reverently as Budhist priests chanted prayers. After the services, they dumped 4000 baby eels into the Sumida River—presumably to grow up to be caught and eaten.
