Chifley Never Doubted Honesty Of Ward
Recd. 9.30 p.m. Canberra, May 24 “I have never had any doubt about the honesty of the Minister, said Mr. Chifley, commenting on charges made against the Minister of External Territories, Mr. Ward, during the Garden trial. “I do not believe the charges and I never have.” He added that the matter would be examined by the Attorney-General, Dr. Evatt, whe would discuss it with him.
