Methodist District Youth Rally

The combined Wanganui District Methodist Bible Classes held a successful after-camp social in the Dublin Street Hall last Saturday night, when members attended from Taihape and Marten. Mr. Jack Keats officiated as M.C. for games and competitions. On Sunday afternoon a youth rally was held in the Trinity Church when Rev. Allan Carr, newly appointed senior youth director, was the speaker. His subject was “The growth of the Christian Church of today’ and presented a striking challenge to the assembled youth. Mr. Carr pointed out that the great missionary movements of the last century were formed by laymen, also that Jesus used laymen to continue His work- He quoted in Temple a saying that the Conversion of England would be brought about by the work of laymen! While ministers had their particular work to do, it had to be supplemented by the layworkers. Youth today had a great opportunity to witness for It in the workshop, office and home. It is our duty and privilege. Through this method large numbers will be brought into the Kingdom.
