SHOTS IN HOTEL
MAN FOUND DEAD ON GROUND FLOOR (P.A.) Auckland. May 3. After the sound of two shots had reverberated through a city hotel, a company promoter and sharebroker was foundidead in a convenience on the ground floor this afternoon. He was Mr. Philip Douglas Doland, aged 52, married, of Cathedral Place, Parnell.
Mr. Doland had met his solicitor by appointment at the hotel about 1.30 p.m. After the deceased had excused himself the solicitor heard the sound of a shot from a convenience. Another shot rang out and Doland was found dead on the floor with a wound in his head. A pistol was lying beside him.
