WELL NAMED "Excellent display of jumping by Political Boy,” reads a headline on a report of a race meeting. Politicians have invariably been jumpers. At least, we’ve found them so. PICK, NOT KICK! We offer this advice to a Maxwell fanner we have heard of: Mushrooms should be picked, not kicked. Had he realised the wisdom picking instead of kicking, he would not have had to lie up—a disturbed cartilege in a knee. Even mushrooms can be dangerous! RAETIHI WOULD BLESS A REDUCTION OF TAXATION, Dear "Sandy,"—Residents of the cities must wonder just what the thoughts and reactions of their country cousins in Raetihi must be, as the mountains belch forth smoke, fire, and molten rock and thus threaten to demolish our slumbering town.
