ere-t announced in “The Times,” London, recently, was that of Miss Louise Fitzherbert, elder daughter of Professor and Mrs. G. W. von Zedlitz, of Lower Hutt, to Mr. David Balfour, elder son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Balfour. Miss Fitzherbert, who has been in England since 1938, served in various capacities during the war, and was finally lent to the Ministry of Information, now the Council of Information, where she is in charge of the financial branch of the photographic division. Her fiance is a first secretary at the Foreign Office. During the war he served with the rank of major. The wedding will take place on May 1. Girl Designs Air Liner Interior A job which has never before fallen to a woman is being undertaken by Miss Pamela Colgate, of New York. She is designing an airliner interior, that of the Boeing Stratocruiser, of which the British Overseas Airways Corporation has six on order for delivery in 1948. Miss Colgate and her associates are using much ingenuity to create a feeing of space within small compass by a colour scheme of greys, blues and fawns. Skin-thick, canvas-backed panelling of English lizard grey oak will be used extensively, with “avtrim,” a new covering fabric, and gaberdines, woollens, and whipcords blending in the chosen colours. Miss Colgate has recently designed and completed the decorations of the corporation’s Madison Avenue terminal in New York.
