Southland Beats Otago In Close Finish
<P.A.) Invercargill, March 29 In one of the most exciting cricket matches seen in Southland for many a year, Southland defeated Otago by one wicket. The respective captains agreed to play extra time after six o’clock when Southland required 23 runs to head Otago’s score. The Overton brothers were associated in a good eighth wicket partnership and later were joined by N. O’Grady, who clinched the game with a four to the fence off Robinson, making the score 152 for nine wickets. G. Overton was bowled with the last ball of the over.
