R. H. Glading Won Main Amateur Event At Manawatu Tourney
(P.A.) Palmerston N., March 29 At the Manawatu Golf Club’s open tournament which concluded today, the Wellington unattached professional J. Lambie won the professional championship by beating A. J. Shaw (Miramar), 1 up at the 23rd. The semi-finals resulted in Lambie beating J. Weir (North Auckland), 1 up, and Shaw beating Jim Galloway (Whangarel) 2 and 1. The principal imateur event the Manawatu Easter Cup, was won by the national open champion, R. H. Glading, who beat W. G. Horne, the former national champion, 1 up. The game went to the 18th. The semi-finals resulted In Glading beating K. S. Glendining at the 19th, and Horne beating H. J. Longstaff at the 20th.
