21 NAZI CRIMINALS TO BE HANGED IN SECRET
Hamburg, Jan. 28 It is reported that, the British official executioner, Albert Plerrepoint, has arrived In the British zone to assist in “operation pontoon”—the secret hanging of 21 war criminals at Hamlin. They include the 16 Gestapo officials convicted of murdering 50 Allied air force officers who escaped from Stalag Luft 111. The condemned men arc being secretly transferred to Hamlin to avoid a rescue attempt.
