Poland Is To Compel People To Save Money

Under a new Bill making saving compulsory, all Polish citizens earning more than £l5O a year must deposit in State and municipal banks a sum varying from three per cent, for those earning £l5O, to 11 per cent, for those earning £6OO a year, says the “Times’ ” Warsaw correspondent. Persons earning more than £6OO a year must save from one-tenth to one-fifth <jf their yearly income. The Finance Minister said the Bill aimed at making saving a habit, and at inducing borders to put their money into circulation.
