DIAMOND DISPLAY IN LONDON

Recd. London. Jan. 28. Overseas visitors to Britain during the coming spring will have an opportunity to see the diamond jewellery* presented to Princess Elizabeth on the occasion of her wedding, and also a number of gifts of jewellery given to her during her South African tour. They will be exhibited at the British Industries Fair, opening at Olympia, London, on May 3. Another exhibit at the fair will be the 770 carat uncut diamond found in gravel of the Woyie river bed. Sierra Leone, in January, 1545. This diamond is stated to be the largest stone in the world. The only two larger stones found have been the famous Cullinan, of 3106 carats and the Excelsior, of 995 carats. The Woyie diamond will be exhibited as part of a collection of rough diamonds typical of those normally recovered from diamond mines and alluvial fields.
