Volunteer Staff Sought For Food Parcels Depot
The Food Parcels sub-committee of the Wanganui Central Aid for "Britain Committee has circularised all local women’s organisations asking for volunteers to staff the Bulk Food Parcels Depot, which has been established at Wicksteed Place. The depot will start operations as from Monday next at 10 a.m. and will receive, pack and dispatch food to the Overseas Allocation Centre in London. Already a considerable quantity of tinned fodstuffs has been received and it is hoped that the people of Wanganui will continue to support the project to the best of their means. Ladies desirous of helping at the depot are asked to contact the secretary as soon as possible at phone 2222.
